Code of a Filmmaker #10

New Series: The Code of a Filmmaker as described by The Basic Filmmaker. I will break down what each bullet means and how it should be applied. This series will go in increasing order from #12 - #1.

#10. I promise to not permit unauthorized photos, shots, sound, recordings, or information given to me in confidence, to be passed on to anyone for any reason.

In other words, don't be scumbag steve. If someone tells you something in private and you happen to get it on film or catch a photo of something otherwise detrimental to that person, you have the duty to not show it to anybody. You are not a paparazzi and any video you have must be shown with the proper consent of every individual within your shot. Even the use of bloopers may be funny to you, but could bring harsh repercussions on others. Only use what you need and if it is a questionable call, you make sure you have the authorization to use such materials.
